DAY 01: Depart USA for Tel Aviv
DAY 02: Welcome to Israel!
You will be met at the Tel Aviv airport and transferred to your hotel in Tel Aviv for dinner and overnight.
DAY 03: Nazareth. Tiberias
After a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast, drive north near Netanya, "Pearl of the Sharon" towards Caesarea Maritima. Continue to Haifa and Mount Carmel. The site “Mohraqa” is on the way to Megiddo and Nazareth in the hill country of Galilee. Visit the Church of the Annunciation, Mary’s well and the Roman Synagogue. After Lunch in Nazareth drive to Mount Tabor, known as the Hill of Transfiguration. Finally today we shall pass through Cana of Galilee, the scene of the wedding feast where the first miracle took place. Descending 636 feet below sea level, arrive in Tiberias by the Sea of Galilee in time for dinner and overnight.
DAY 04: Galilee, Tiberias
Your day begins with a visit to Mount Beatitudes, revered by Christian tradition as the site where Jesus preached his immortal “Sermon on the Mount”. Visit the remains of the chapel at Tabgha, dedicated to the feeding of the multitude. A short drive takes you to Capernaum visiting the area often frequented by Jesus, the House of Simon Peter and the remains of the Synagogue. From Tiberias we board a launch cruise that will take you across the tranquil Sea of Galilee. Enjoy a fish lunch at one of the Galilean Restaurant. After a time to rest and relax near the shores of Galilee, our motor coach takes you to Banyas on the Golan Heights. We stop at a baptismal site on the banks of the River Jordan for those who wish may be baptized.
DAY 05: Jericho, Jerusalem
Be prepared to start early. After breakfast, we say farewell to the Sea of Galilee and start this day with a drive through the Jordan Valley to visit the excavations of the city of Old Jericho. View Mount Temptation and visit the site of Elisha’s Fountain. Drive through the hill country of Ephraim where we stop for lunch. Afternoon we continue to “Shiloh” on the road between Shechem and Jerusalem. The Ark of the Covenant was kept at Shiloh for 369 years according to the Talmud. We stop for events that took place at Shiloh, having to do with the life of Eli, Hannah, Samuel and the capture of the Ark by the Philistines.
DAY 06: Mt of Olives, Palm Sunday Road, Gethsemane
Stand on the Mount of Olives, where Jesus ascended into Heaven forty days after His resurrection and take in the remarkable panoramic view of the city of Jerusalem. Walk the Palm Sunday Road down to the Garden of Gethsemane and pray among the olive trees. Visit Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus. Look out on the Shepherd's Fields, where angels spread the Good News.
DAY 07: Qumran, Masada, Dead Sea
Leaving Jerusalem by way of Jericho, the oldest walled city in the world. Visit the community center of the Essenes and the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Continue towards Ein Gedi, where King David hid while escaping the soldiers of Saul. After Lunch ascend the fortress by Cable Car to visit the ruins of fortifications, water works, Herodian palaces and Roman temples. Stop at the Dead Sea for an opportunity to wade or swim in its saline water.
DAY 08: Jerusalem, Old City
Today we begin by visiting the Kidron Valley and the pool of Siloam, before driving to Mount Zion to visit the Upper Room, Tomb of King David and the Church of Saint Peter. See the Potter’s field on the Eastern side of the Kidron Valley with the staircase from the time of Christ leading to the Garden of Gethsemane. We continue to visit the Jewish quarter, the Temple Institute, and the Western Wall tunnels. We visit the Dome of the Rock.
DAY09: Valley Of Elah, Jerusalem
After breakfast, drive west of Jerusalem towards Nebi Continue towards the Valley of Ayalon, known as the location of a major battlefields where Joshua, defeated his enemies when the sun obeying his bidding stood still near here. We drive past Emmaus and arrive in Beit Shemesh. Continue through the Valley of Elah where David fought Goliath the Philistine Giant. After Lunch in Jerusalem visit the Shrine of the Book and the Holocaust Memorial.
DAY 10: Old City, Garden Tomb
Walk through portions of the Old City of Jerusalem and visit the Pool of Bethesda, where the man who was sick for 38 years was healed on the Sabbath. See some of the streets known of the Via Dolorosa, and walk along the Cardo, the ancient marketplace where sights and sounds of modern shops mingle with ruins dating back to the Judean monarchy. Reflect on the agony of the cross at Gordon’s Calvary, and at the Garden Tomb, experience the exhilaration of Jesus’ resurrection.
DAY 11: Return To USA
